Hiroshima!

I love Hiroshima! Such a nice city, people are friendly and happy, the Peace Park is so beautiful and the city has such a nice chill vibe.
On our first day we visited the Peace Memorial Museum. I have read about Hiroshima in the past so knew what to expect at the museum, but it was still very sad. Though you walk around the city and apart from the memorials you would have no idea it had been obliterated. There are a few things dotted around that survived the blast, obviously the A-bomb Dome, but also parts of bridges and statues with shadows burned into them, and we came across some kind of metal water pump. You can always spot the surviving things as they have paper cranes hanging off them.
We met up with friends again that night for a few drinks. Crazy coincidence that they were in not only Tokyo but also Hiroshima at the same time as us! We found a tiny little whiskey bar which turned out to be perfect. I enjoyed a couple glasses of umeshu (plum liqueur), delicious!
