On our 2nd to last day in Osaka, we were on a mission to get yummy food stuff to bring home. Also trying to avoid the heat as much as possible, though it seemed to be a bit more bearable that day. We were hunting down a particular shop and stumbled upon a takoyaki restaurant in Umeda. Takoyaki is little balls of a pancakey mix, usually with octopus and spring onion in them. We’d tried them before, but this place we cooked them at our table! Very cool!! They were the best ones I’ve ever had (though that might be cos I left off the bonito (dried fish) flakes, haha).
For dinner we went back to the amazing little restaurant near our hotel – this time we also tried their special okonomiyaki with the tomato, yum!
And the one thing we hadn’t tried yet – a cat cafe! That was interesting. We paid ¥1000 (about 10 bucks) each to spend an hour with 24 cats, who were super cute but pretty much ignored us unless we were giving them treats. It was still fun though. So many different breeds, lots of funny wee faces.
